How to Install:
 
1). Position the tie against the existing leaf of masonry so that the outer end will be located in the bed joint of the new external leaf.
 
2). For existing aircrete / thermalite blockwork use the hand setting tool to hammer the tie through the insulation, and into the blockwork to the correct embedment depth. For existing dense block or brickwork, first use the drill bit to form a pilot hole to the required depth in the existing masonry, and then drive using the SDS setting tool provided.
 
3). Install an Insulation Retaining Clip (sold separately) to restrain the insulation.
 
4). Build into the bed joint of the new outer leaf ensuring the tie is surrounded by mortar.
 
 
Other Info:
 
Helical ties must have a minimum embedment in the inner (load bearing) leaf of 75mm.
 
We recommend that you test the strength of substrate before choosing the appropriate drill hole
 
Above table assumes that facing brickwork is 110mm wide imperial brickwork (make adjustment for small widths / 100mm metric bricks).
 
Grade 304 (A2) ties are sold as standard- consider Grade 316 (A4) in highly corrosive areas such as marine locations or heavily polluted industrial environments. All products can be upgraded on request.
