Lateral Restraint Ties for Restraining Bulges in Walls

These lateral restraint ties are suitable for connecting bulging / bowing masonry walls into the sides of two or more timber side joists (where joists span parallel to the wall not onto it). You will also need a 450*14mm masonry drill bit, resin, and an SDS installation key to complete the work.

If your joists span onto the wall (fixing into joists end) then this sytem is not suitable, and you should look here

 

Applications:

 

  • For restraining bulging / bowing walls

  • Tying the wall to two or more timber side joists

  • Ties are fitted from outside the property with a minimum of disturbance in most cases just lift a few floorboards to determine the position of the joists and to ensure hidden wires or pipes are avoided during the installation

  • Each restraint tie has a drill-like leading end for cutting into softwood

  • Using a SDS drill, simply fix the lateral restraint ties (using the installation tool) into the timbers and resin fix the masonry end
