Newtonite Newlath is a BBA certified damp proof membrane, comprising of high density polyethylene membrane with a rot-proof polythene mesh that is heat-welded during the manufacturing process to the surface of one side. The meshed surface creates a mechanical key to allow the membrane to be plastered, rendered or to receive dot & dab plasterboard.
Kit or Membrane Only?
If you select the kit option, we will provide 100Nr compatible Mesh Plugs per 10m2, plus Newton Mesh Tape for sealing joints plus a tube of Newton 801 Mastic for sealing plugs. Additional ancillary products can also be purchased seperately here.

Newtonite Newlath Mesh Membrane is light, clean and easy to handle. It can be cut with a sharp knife, scissors or shears. The membrane is inert and is highly resistant to water, alkalies, saline solutions and organic acids, and it is not affected by minerals. It is also resistant to bacteria, fungi and other small organisms.
Newtonite Newlath Mesh Membrane is guaranteed against deterioration for 30 years, has a life expectancy of at least 50 years and is supported by BBA Certification Certificate Number 94/3010.

Not enough plugs and many of them broke. Plenty of tape. For the value if I was to buy again I'd buy the lath and buy the plugs separately for about 20 quid go for the metal ones which I had to buy anyway. The kit deal is not good value. Membrane tape, plugs and one tube of silicone cost £110?? Madness. However the lath itself is a fabulous piece of kit.

According to the fixing guide plugs should drilled at 250mm centers. On a 12m2 roll i needed nearly 300. Only 100 was provided
